Western State Hospital is recruiting for a P14 (12 hours per week) Speech Therapist to work as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to conduct assessments; develop and implement treatment plans and intervention techniques; and, evaluate results for individuals with swallowing disorders. Services will meet the needs of clients and will be in accordance with rules, regulations and policies as set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), ASHA Code of Ethics, Commonwealth of Virginia and Western State Hospital.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required include diagnostic and rehabilitative expertise in speech-language pathology; diagnostic and rehabilitative expertise in swallowing disorders; basic understanding in behavioral management; ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary staff; good organizational skills; and, basic computer skills. Graduation from college and Licensed by the Virginia Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
